Individuals are shaped by their own experiences. Their exposure to diverse and varied experiences will develop or demean their personal character and determine their benefit or detriment to society.
It is the methodology of to provide this positive exposure to the youth in the form of events which allow the youth to develop in an advantageous manner.
One of the most prominent comments from youth regarding what they want from society involves individualized instruction. They all want to have their individual needs met. They want to feel like they are more than part of a crowd, that their individual talents and abilities are respected, deemed worthy. And it is these individual talents that have the potential to benefit the individual as well as the society.
The youth need to look up to real people, who recognize them as human beings, people who understand and care about them. Unfortunately for many of the average British Muslims, their Islamic upbringing is based on a few hours spent in a Mosque after school with teachers who are usually imported and therefore out of touch with British society and the trials which these youth face. It is the methodology of to provide practical guidance through events by being second generation Muslims born and brought up in a society which they themselves understand and respect.
An event organised by may be divided into two specific types:
- Main Event: These are activities done on an irregular basis with a specific purpose in mind. The purpose may be to attract new youth or to form better relationships with the youth. Example: Camping trips, football tournaments and sleepovers in the mosque.
- Continuous Event: These are activities done on a regular and periodic basis which will allow the youth to be sustained, maintained and monitored to ensure their constructive development. Example: Weekly football events and organising weekly study circles
